Job summary

Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora Nelson Hospital seeks an Anaesthetic Technician/RNAA for a permanent, part-time role (0.8 FTE). You will join our perioperative team delivering high-quality, patient-centred care in a supportive environment and work across multiple surgical specialties in a modern theatre suite.

You will assist anaesthetists, monitor patients, maintain anaesthetic equipment, and collaborate with surgical teams to ensure safe operating theatre operations.

Qualifications

• Be a Registered Anaesthetic Technician or a RNAA with a current APC issued by MSCNZ or NZ Nursing Council or be eligible
• Relevant experience in anaesthetic or perioperative setting preferred
• Strong attention to detail, effective communication, and team collaboration skills
• Ability to work flexible hours to meet department needs and handle a high workload including emergencies

Responsibilities

• Assist anaesthetists during surgeries by preparing and handling anaesthetic equipment
• Monitor patients' vital signs and ensure patient safety and comfort during procedures
• Maintain anaesthetic equipment and stock supplies
• Collaborate with surgical teams to support seamless operating theatre operations
• Comply with hospital policies and safety standards
