Job summary

Propellerhead is seeking an AI-native Systems Reliability Engineer in Auckland to strengthen our engineering team. You will design Azure deployments, automate CI/CD pipelines, and implement robust monitoring while leveraging AI to diagnose and script solutions.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as Site/Systems Reliability Engineer or DevOps engineer.
• Agentic-first approach using AI to diagnose, script, automate and document.
• Scripting experience with PowerShell, Python or shell; AI-assisted tools welcome.
• Strong Azure deployment architectures and DevOps pipelines; Terraform expertise.
• Linux server administration and virtual networks troubleshooting.
• Monitoring frameworks (New Relic, Dynatrace); ability to build dashboards.
• Experience with AWS and Bamboo/Bitbucket Pipelines is advantageous.
• Ability to switch context across multiple technologies and stay calm under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Design cloud deployment architectures on Azure with core development teams.
• Provision deployment environments and coordinate with stakeholders.
• Ensure security, scalability, and performance in solution architectures.
• Build CI/CD pipelines and automate software releases where needed.
• Configure monitoring and alerting; integrate with support tools.
• Assist triage and troubleshooting of support tickets; verify symptoms.
• Participate in on-call duties; provide incident reports and mitigations.
• Lead proactive continuous improvement programmes to reduce issues.
