Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an AI Ethicist and Governance Specialist for a hybrid role in Queenstown, NZ. You will establish and maintain ethical standards and governance frameworks for AI initiatives, ensuring responsible, fair, and compliant deployments that align with regulatory requirements and societal expectations.

You will collaborate with legal, compliance and technology teams, advise on best practices, and contribute to building trustworthy AI systems within a forward-thinking organization.

Qualifications

• Master's degree required.
• 2+ years of experience in AI ethics, governance or regulatory compliance.
• Solid understanding of AI/ML technologies and societal implications.
• Strong analytical, research and communication skills.
• Ability to provide practical guidance on complex ethical issues.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement AI governance policies and ethical guidelines.
• Conduct risk assessments, bias audits, and impact analyses for AI systems.
• Advise engineering and product teams on ethical considerations and best practices.
• Monitor evolving regulatory landscapes and industry standards related to AI ethics.
