Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an AI Ethics and Compliance Officer for a Queenstown-based role with hybrid work arrangements. You will develop and enforce AI ethics guidelines, assess AI systems for risks, and ensure compliance with data privacy and AI regulations.

The role requires a strong background in compliance or ethics within tech, plus knowledge of AI/ML implications and data protection laws. Collaboration with internal teams and stakeholders is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Law, Ethics, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in compliance, risk management, or ethics.
• Strong understanding of AI/ML concepts and their ethical implications.
• Knowledge of data protection laws (e.g., POPIA) and emerging AI regulations.
• Hybrid work environment in Queenstown.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement AI ethics guidelines and compliance procedures.
• Conduct regular audits and assessments of AI systems to identify potential ethical risks and biases.
• Ensure compliance with relevant data privacy regulations and AI-specific legislation.
• Advise internal teams on ethical considerations related to AI development and deployment.
• Monitor industry best practices and regulatory changes related to AI ethics and governance.
• Prepare reports and present findings to senior management and relevant stakeholders.
