Regulatory Effectiveness is a new group established at WorkSafe to strengthen regulatory focus and improve how WorkSafe understands risk, designs interventions, and evaluates impact.
The Product Design and Development team develops and maintains products, guidance, and content that help improve health and safety outcomes across New Zealand. Working closely with Product Leads, policy specialists, digital teams, and subject matter experts, the team is focused on delivering high-quality, user‑centred products that make a real difference.
This is a unique opportunity to shape how WorkSafe uses artificial intelligence to deliver better products and services. As an AI Enablement Lead, you will provide operational leadership to accelerate the adoption of AI across product management and development. You will work alongside Product Leads and subject matter experts to design and integrate AI‑enabled approaches, helping teams turn emerging technology into practical business outcomes.
You will build functional capability, drive continuous improvement, and ensure all AI‑enabled work aligns with regulatory, governance, and quality standards.

As part of our remuneration framework, the full salary range for this role is $112,754 - $147,932 with the expected appointment base salary $112,754-$124,480 (KiwiSaver/SSRSS employer contributions are additional). From 1 April 2026 our KiwiSaver employer contribution increased to 3.5%.
