Secondary (Years 7–15) / wharekura, Certificated teacher

We are looking for an agriculture / horticulture teacher to guide the next generation of primary producers in Taranaki. Position commencing on 28 January 2026.

We are a rural-based, co-ed secondary school based in Waitara, Taranaki. We have a school farm of 3.3 hectares that currently runs 40 East Friesian/Wiltshire cross ewes and 2 steers.

Attributes required:
  • A solid understanding of agriculture/horticulture skills.
  • Ability to communicate well with teenagers.
  • Be able to work as part of a close-knit and excellence-seeking science team.
  • Ability & openness to teach junior general science, or other supporting subjects.
Preferred:
  • Farm management capability.
