Waka Kotahi is seeking a regulatory advisor for vehicle regulations to provide technical guidance and support to regulatory teams and stakeholders. You will contribute to consistent compliance outcomes and improved safety within the land transport system.
You will maintain relationships, communicate technical information clearly, and stay up to date with legislation and industry best practices to inform rule development and guidance.
The purpose of this role is to be the technical go to for Vehicles Regulations. This is an opportunity to provide support, advice, and guidance to our Vehicle Regulations teams and to our regulated parties and key stakeholders in relation to individual queries and approvals. You will be contributing to the delivery of consistent regulatory compliance outcomes, resulting in improved safety within the land transport system. You will be a skilled and regulatory advisor, able to maintain key operational relationships both internal and external, effectively deliver technical information in all aspects and drive consistency through your technical knowledge in an operational environment. To be successful in this role, you will bring:
Relevant industry qualifications in a related discipline or equivalent experience. You will demonstrate knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an understanding of Te Ao Māori and promote tikanga and Te Reo Māori. You will also have knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an appreciation of Te Tiriti o Waitangi (the Treaty of Waitangi) as it applies in the public sector.
