Job summary

Ministry for Primary Industries in Wellington is seeking an Adviser Export Assurance on a fixed-term 12-month secondment to enhance regulatory understanding of New Zealand's export systems. You will work within NZ Food Safety's Assurance Directorate to support official assurances and compliance with international market requirements.

You will develop and review export assurance standards, monitor programmes, and build relationships with internal teams, verification agencies, and industry

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the development, implementation and review of export assurance standards and systems.
• Support monitoring, reporting and continuous improvement activities across export assurance programmes.
• Review approvals and provide advice relating to export assurance requirements and regulatory systems.
• Build strong working relationships with internal stakeholders, verification agencies, recognised laboratories and industry representatives.
• Analyse information and contribute to quality assurance, compliance monitoring and reporting activities.

This role offers a unique opportunity to develop your understanding of export systems, regulatory frameworks, official assurances, and international market requirements while contributing to work that supports New Zealand's export reputation.Working as part of the Export Assurance team, you'll help ensure New Zealand's food, live animal and germplasm export systems continue to meet regulatory requirements and importing country expectations.
