# Advisor at NZ Ministry of Justice, Wellington City## Mō tēnei tūranga mahi | About this role**Advisor****Operations Support, National Service Delivery****Te Haeata/The Opportunity****The National Service Delivery unit (NSD)** provides a range of justice services to court participants around Aotearoa/New Zealand that assist with administering the court system.These services include:* administering legal aid for those who can't afford a lawyer,* collecting court ordered fines, reparation, and legal aid debt,* transcribing activities in the courts,* judicial library support,* developing training and guidance material for all court and Ministry staff,* providing a centralised customer call and high-volume application processing service.We have a 9 – month fix term opportunity for an experienced Advisor to join the NSD Operations Support team.To be successful in this role you need to have exceptional communication skills, an understanding of the Machinery of Government, a well-developed risk radar, problem solving, proven resiliency and the ability work as part of a dynamic and multifaceted team.As an Advisor, you will be responsible for providing timely, accurate, comprehensive and tailored advice to business unit managers and frontline operations. This includes developing operational policies, guidelines, initiatives and resolving issues as well as continuous improvement functions within NSD. You will also support, and occasionally lead, service improvement initiatives.You will also be an essential part in the release of information to Ministers and Parliament, and responses to parliamentary, justice stakeholder, court participant, and public requests for information. This includes managing, processing, and drafting responses to requests for information, drafting responses to Ministerial correspondence and Written Parliamentary Questions. You will work collaboratively with other business units across the Ministry to ensure that responses meet statutory requirements, align to publicly available information, and are issued within relevant timeframes.**Ō** **pūkenga/Skills and Experience**This is a busy and challenging role, so will require someone who is flexible, calm and can multi-task.
