Our role as a kaitiaki is brought to life by our values; Look to the Horizon, Help the Team Work, Make the Calls and Open Hearts, Open Minds.

You'll be joining our specialist Deposit Taking Team where you'll get to provide support and input into how we achieve effective regulation of conduct in the banking and non-bank deposit taking sectors. You will also be assessing sector risks and entity performance and engaging with market participants. There is lots of room to grow and learn in this role.

Intrigued as to how your experience might translate here?

What is the most exciting thing about this opportunity?

Ultimately the work you'll do will help support fair outcomes for consumers; and you'll get the opportunity to be part of some interesting, challenging, and thought-provoking work at the forefront of regulatory delivery.

Ideally you will have previous exposure to the operation of deposit takers (both banks or non-bank deposit takers). We are keen for you to show us why you're motivated by fair consumer treatment and how you've put fair consumer outcomes first in your previous roles.

You'll also bring great relationship building skills and an ability to communicate effectively at all levels. We'll support you as you apply your natural curiosity and critical thinking skills to your work at the FMA.

You're not expected to have 100% of these skills. At FMA a growth mindset is at the heart of our culture, so if you have most of these things in your toolbox, we'd love to hear from you.

We offer some great benefits including:

  • 4% KiwiSaver contributions
  • Health and Life insurance cover
  • Paid leave over the Christmas period
  • A generous $1,500 refer a friend bonus
  • An ability to swap public holiday leave with other days that mean more to you
  • Exceptional learning and development opportunities including access to technical training

At the FMA we're committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive environment where every individual feels valued, respected, and empowered to bring their authentic self to work each day. We offer a range of wellness and social activities designed to support our people with aspects of their personal and professional lives and genuinely connect with their colleagues.

At FMA, you'll be part of an organization that values and celebrates the diverse backgrounds, cultures, perspectives, and life experiences of our team members.
