About the Role

Are you a highly organised and proactive professional with a passion for innovation, sustainability, and clean technology?

Thundergrid is seeking an experienced Administration Officer to join our Wellington team to deliver high-level administrative and office coordination initiatives, playing a key role in supporting our purpose-driven team.

On a part-time basis, you will be responsible for ensuring smooth daily operations and a productive working environment – as your contribution will enable our team to remain focused on what we do best: driving innovation in clean energy.

Key Responsibilities
Office Coordination
  • First point of contact for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Manage office supplies, procurement, and vendor relationships.
  • Organise travel, events, and meetings.
  • Maintain office cleanliness, safety, and compliance.
  • Handle mail, courier bookings, invoices, and expense reporting.
  • Improve internal workflows and administrative processes.
  • Liaise with building management and neighbouring businesses.
  • Support a positive and productive team culture.
Technical & Operational Support
  • Provide basic IT support and assist with hardware logistics.
  • Support onboarding/offboarding of staff and contractors.
  • Collaborate with teams on vendor/customer account setup.
  • Assist with EV charger installations and help desk overflow.
  • Coordinate with project and operations teams as needed.
Health, Safety & Quality
  • Embody Health and Safety representative responsibilities, inclusive of reporting and documentation.
  • Track utilities, waste, and E-waste for ISO certification.
  • Manage hot desking and fire warden communications.
  • Promote a safe, inclusive, and collaborative workplace.
About You
  • 2+ years’ experience in administration or office coordination.
  • Strong organisational and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Tech-savvy with Microsoft Office and quick to learn new systems.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Proactive and solutions-focused mindset.
  • Has a ‘can-do’ approach, with a sense of urgency.
  • Passion for sustainability, innovation, and team culture.
