Overview

Part time, Fixed term, FTTE up to: 0.1, Start Date: 06/10/2025, End Date: 09/12/2025 (Provide additional support to akonga)

  • 4 hours per week comprising 2.5 contact hours and 1.5 planning and reporting hours.
  • Based in Manurewa

As an additional teacher you'll work with an ākonga (student) in their home based in Manurewa. You'll play a vital part of a professional team who work together to provide our ākonga with support in relation to their individualised learning programme.

This position is during school term time only. To be considered for this role you must have the right to reside or work in New Zealand and hold a current New Zealand Teachers Registration.

Te Aho o Te Kura Pounamu (Te Kura) is New Zealand's largest school with a roll of up to 24,000 ākonga (students) at any point of time. We provide personalised and authentic learning programmes through distance education from early childhood to NCEA Level 3, including to young adult and adult learners.

Our ākonga are at the centre of all we do.

Your excellent communication and relationship management skills will see you foster strong relationships with our ākonga, their whānau and the Te Kura kaiako and the teams working with our ākonga on their individualised learning journey.

We are looking for someone who is keen to bring their energy to engage with our ākonga to support their learning.

You'll be someone who is supportive, well-organised, and flexible. Knowing your way around a computer is beneficial.
