Nelson Marlborough Health is seeking an Addiction Psychiatrist, Psychiatry Medical Officer, or GP with an interest in addiction medicine to join our Addiction Service in Nelson. This fixed-term part-time role (0.2–0.8 FTE) runs from October 2026 to February 2027 with flexible hours, based at Nelson Hospital.

Candidates may work one to two days per week or two to four days per fortnight. You will provide specialist clinical care for alcohol and other drug-related problems, assess opioid

Formación

• Experience in addiction settings managing medical complications of addictive disorders.
• Fellowship or Membership of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists or equivalent.
• Eligible for Annual Practising Certificate and Vocational Registration in Psychiatry or MCNZ equivalent.

Responsabilidades

• Provide specialist clinical care to patients with alcohol and other drug-related problems.
• Assess and treat patients with opioid dependency and contribute to opioid substitution treatment where appropriate.
• Work within a multidisciplinary Addiction Service to support recovery and wellbeing.
