Overview
The Acupuncturist is responsible for the assessment and management of patients referred for acupuncture in various clinical settings.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Assess and manage patients referred for acupuncture independently and implement appropriate treatment plans.
- Report to referring doctor and other members of the medical team.
- Document patient acupuncture records and ensure charging are done accurately.
- Comply with clinical and service standards.
- Practice within areas of professional competence and seek clinical support from supervisor / other healthcare professionals when appropriate.
- Collaborate with other healthcare members and participate in case conferences.
- Assist in the supervision of Health Assistants and staff nurses in the workgroup.
- Participate in departmental QC and other activities.
- Assist senior in inventory checks and upkeep of equipment and work area.
- Contribute to departmental in-service training programmes.
- Actively update acupuncture therapy knowledge and skills.
Job Requirements
Qualification:
- Recognised Degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine.
- Registered with Singapore Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioner’s Board.
Experience:
- Able to perform a range of acupuncture therapies including acupuncture, moxibustion, cupping and electro-acupuncture.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Service oriented and customer focused.
- A good team player who is able to work efficiently in a multi-disciplinary team.
- Competent in IT Skills (Microsoft Excel/Word/Powerpoint).
