About the role | Ko te mahi nei

As an Activities & Events Crew Member, you'll be part of a hands-on team that keeps our venues humming. No two days are the same! You'll:

  • Set up and pack down equipment for sports bookings, community events, and recreation programmes.
  • Open and prepare facilities, making sure they're safe, welcoming, and ready for action.
  • Be the friendly face customers meet first helping them navigate the space and ensuring everything runs smoothly.
  • Work alongside event organisers, schools, clubs, and community groups to deliver top-notch experiences.
  • Follow event run sheets, uphold Health & Safety standards, and take pride in every detail that makes our events shine.
  • You'll be based at Cowles Stadium, Cowles Stadium, or Graham Condon Recreation & Sport Centres, with opportunities for casual shifts across all venues perfect for those who like variety, teamwork, and action.
Available Shift Options:
  • Monday to Thursday: 3pm - 10pm
  • Total: 34 hours per week
  • Friday: 3pm - 10pm
  • Total: 7 hours per week

Option 3 - Pioneer Recreation and Sport Centre

  • Friday: 7am - 3:30pm
  • Saturday: 4pm - 8pm
  • Total: 12 hours per week

Option 4 - Graham Condon Recreation and Sport Centre

  • Sunday: 2pm - 8:30pm
  • Total: 6 hours per week

Option 5 - Across all venues

  • Casual work means you'll be called in as needed, offering flexibility to fit around changing schedules. Hours are not guaranteed and will vary week to week.

We're looking for energetic, reliable, and community-minded people who take pride in their work and enjoy a challenge. You'll bring:

  • Strong customer service skills and a positive, can-do attitude.
  • A knack for problem-solving and working under pressure you stay calm when the action heats up!
  • Great communication and teamwork skills.
  • The ability to follow processes and use initiative when needed.
  • A Comprehensive First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain).

Previous experience in events, recreation, sport, or customer-facing roles is a bonus but what really matters is enthusiasm, reliability, and the drive to make every customer's experience a great one.
