Overview

This is a Casual position, hence, there are no guaranteed weekly hours.

  • Rotating roster covering Monday – Sunday
  • Hours of work: Ideal shift timings are 9:00am to 3:00pm / 10:00am to 4:00pm.
  • Total hours: No guaranteed weekly hours; it will be as per the requirement at the care home.
Responsibilities

In this role, you will be supporting the Activities Coordinator, identifying the leisure activity needs of each of the St Kilda Care Home residents based on their interests, preferences, and abilities and contribute to the planning and implementation of individual and group activities programmes.

  • Participate and contribute to both individual and group programme activities.
  • Contribute to the review and assessment of the residents\' individual activities programme.
  • Actively promote a homely, stimulating, and pleasant environment for the residents and their families.
  • Develop and maintain excellent internal and external communication networks to support the activities programme.
About You
  • An NZQA Certificate in Diversional Therapy Level is preferred.
  • Previous experience in a similar role within aged care is desirable.
  • Display enthusiasm, empathy, and a passion for making a positive impact on the lives of residents.
  • Demonstrate outstanding communication skills.
  • A fun personality with a creative flair.
  • A clean, full driver’s licence is preferable, as you may drive the van for resident outings.
  • Applicants must be legally entitled to work in NZ.
