Our client is a well-established organisation seeking an experienced Accountant to take ownership of its finance function. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys being hands-on while also partnering with Directors to provide commercial insight and support strategic decision-making.
This is far more than a transactional accounting role. You'll be responsible for ensuring the financial health of the business through accurate reporting, forecasting and analysis while helping guide future planning.
Prepare monthly management accounts and complete month-end reporting
Deliver meaningful financial reports and insights to Directors
Prepare annual budgets and monitor performance against budget
Manage cashflow and produce accurate cashflow forecasts
Develop financial forecasts to support business planning
Complete balance sheet reconciliations and maintain the general ledger
Assist with year-end accounts and liaise with external accountants and auditors
Analyse financial performance and identify trends, risks and opportunities
Recommend and implement improvements to financial processes and reporting
Support Directors with commercial analysis and decision-making
You'll be an experienced Accountant who enjoys taking ownership and has the confidence to work closely with senior leadership.
To be successful you'll have:
Proven experience in a commercial accounting or management accounting position
Strong experience with month-end reporting and financial management
Budgeting, forecasting and cashflow management expertise
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Outstanding attention to detail with a diligent and organised approach
Strong character, integrity and personal accountability
The confidence to communicate financial information to Directors in a clear and practical way
A proactive mindset with the ability to work independently and continually improve processes
