Job summary

Toi Ohomai Institute of Technology is seeking an Academic Staff Member – Barbering to teach in Barbering programmes, tutor ākonga, and maintain classroom resources. The role includes setting and marking assignments, entering results, and supporting recruitment and care of ākonga across campuses within the rohe.

You will contribute to the training salons, uphold health and safety policies, and collaborate with the team to promote excellence in vocational education.

Qualifications

• National qualification in Barbering or equivalent.
• A minimum of 5 years industry experience.
• In depth experience and knowledge of the Barbering Industry.

Job description

This position is for an ASM - Barbering in the School of Design, innovation and Service Industries. This role involves teaching on our Barbering programmes. As an Academic Staff Member within this team you will be required to teach in the classroom and tutor ākonga; research, review and update resources and classroom materials; set and mark assignments and enter results; assist with the recruitment and care of ākonga; and actively participate in the team and school environment. Travel between campuses within the rohe may be required.
