Job summary

Big Chill Distribution is seeking a hands-on 3PL Supervisor to lead day-to-day warehouse operations at our Highbrook site in Auckland. You will coach, develop and support a team, ensure safe, efficient receiving, storage and dispatch, and drive productivity improvements in a chilled/frozen environment.

Able to coordinate resources, communicate with internal teams and transport providers, and maintain high service standards while focusing on safety and accuracy.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years' supervisory experience in warehousing or 3PL logistics.
• OSH safety practices knowledge for warehouse operations.
• WMS experience is advantageous.
• Strong leadership, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Hands-on attitude with ability to coach and develop a team.

Your Role

As a 3PL Supervisor, you'll lead our day-to-day warehouse operations, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. You'll support and develop your team, deliver great service to our customers, and help drive productivity and continuous improvement across our chilled and frozen environment.

This is a hands-on operational leadership role where you'll help coordinate people, resources, workflow and customer requirements to keep the operation running smoothly and efficiently.

You will:

• Lead and support your team by coaching, training, and managing performance to achieve daily operational targets
• Ensure high customer satisfaction through accurate receiving, storage, and dispatch of goods
• Maintain a strong focus on Health & Safety, identifying risks, managing incidents, and ensuring safe work practices at all times
• Monitor warehouse performance, including productivity, quality, and inventory accuracy, and take action to resolve issues and improve processes
• Coordinate daily operations, including scheduling, space utilisation, workflow and operational priorities, to meet volume and time requirements
• Work closely with internal teams, transport providers and other stakeholders to ensure operational requirements are met
• Identify and proactively resolve operational issues, bottlenecks and delays
• Support effective planning and coordination of warehouse and transport activities
• Operate a forklift/reach truck as required, supporting the team in day-to-day warehouse activities

What we're looking for

• 1-2 years' experience in a supervisory role, ideally within warehousing or 3PL logistics
• Sound understanding of Health & Safety practices in a warehouse environment
• Experience using a Warehouse Management System (WMS) is an advantage
• Good computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and MS Office
• AP & TFO certification is an advantage; however, training will be provided
• A current OSH-approved Forklift and Reach Truck licence, with experience operating a reach truck
• Prior experience in a chilled or frozen environment is preferred but not essential
• A positive, hands-on attitude with a willingness to lead by example.
• Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and support a team.
• Well organised, able to prioritise tasks, solve problems, and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
• Reliable, accountable, and calm under pressure, with a flexible and adaptable approach.

• Be available to work weekends when required to meet operational needs

This is a permanent, full-time opportunity, Monday to Friday from 7am - 4pm, with the potential to earn extra hours depending on operational needs. Weekend availability may also be required.
