Job summary

Henderson Valley School in Auckland invites two enthusiastic junior/middle school kaiako (Years 1–8) to join a professional, caring team. We value relationships with ākonga, whānau and colleagues, and teach across English, health and physical education, learning languages, mathematics and statistics, science, social sciences, technology, te reo Māori and the arts.

We seek NZ-registered kaiako who are collaborative, reflective inquirers; skilled in structured literacy and assessment for learning;

Qualifications

• NZ-registered kaiako with current practising certificate.
• Proven ability to build strong relationships with ākonga, whānau and colleagues.
• Skilled in structured literacy and assessment for learning.
• Committed to culturally responsive practice and school values.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging teaching across Year 1–8 with a focus on literacy, numeracy and wellbeing.
• Collaborate with staff to plan, reflect and continuously improve practice.
• Support a sustainable, inclusive learning environment aligned with our vision.

Primary and intermediate (Years 1–8) / kura tuatahi, Certificated teacher
English, Health and physical education, Learning languages, Mathematics and statistics, Science, Social sciences, Technology, Te reo Māori, The arts

We have 2 positions available in our junior/middle school. We are seeking exemplary, passionate and motivated classroom teachers | kaiako who can give our tamariki the very best learning opportunities.

We are looking for New Zealand-registered kaiako who:

• value building strong relationships with ākonga, whānau and colleagues
• are collaborative, solutions-focused and reflective inquirers; committed to continuous learning
• are highly effective teachers of structured literacy, and skilled in ‘assessment for learning’ practices
• have a strong commitment to culturally responsive practice
• are ready to embrace and uphold our values of whakaute | respect, takohanga | responsibility, manaakitanga | caring and whanaungatanga/relationships
• bring creativity and enthusiasm to their teaching practice, and have a good sense of humour.

Experience working with neurodiverse ākonga and using restorative practices is an advantage.
