Job summary

ABB is seeking a Senior Project Engineer in Automation for its office in Fornebu, near Oslo. You will lead multidisciplinary project teams to plan, design, program, test and commission automation projects, while also servicing existing systems and collaborating with the sales organization.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s in automation or a related field with 5+ years of experience, and are fluent in Norwegian and English. Travel for commissioning and service activities is expected.

We are currently looking for a Senior Project Engineer in Automation to join ABB’s office in Fornebu. As a project engineer at ABB, you will typically work in multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality technical solutions to our customers.

Your Responsibilities

• Lead and participate in multidisciplinary project teams
• Plan, design, program, test, and commission projects
• Perform service and follow up on existing customers and installed systems
• Program 800xA controllers and HMIs
• Collaborate with and provide input to the sales organization

Your Background

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, and/or technical vocational education within automation or a related field
• Experience with PLC/DCS programming is an advantage
• Knowledge of communication between HMI systems and PLCs (OPC, Profibus, Modbus, Comli)
• Ability to identify simple and practical solutions to complex problems
• Fluent in both Norwegian and English, written and spoken
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
