Job summary

VPS is seeking an experienced IT Tech Lead to join the Digital Transformation & User Experience team in Oslo or Porto, with potential travel to other Euronext locations. You will steer frontend architecture, lead frontend development, and own BFF/API design, ensuring secure and scalable delivery.

Ideal candidates bring senior software engineering background, hands-on React/Node.js skills, and a track record of modernizing legacy frontend apps while coordinating with global teams across UX, IT

Qualifications

• Senior-level software engineering experience with technical leadership of development teams.
• Strong hands-on expertise in React and Node.js, including REST APIs / backend-for-frontend design.
• Experience maintaining or modernizing legacy frontend applications.
• Solid understanding of API design principles (REST, contract-first design, versioning) and integrating frontend with backend services.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical direction and architecture for the Front End/Back Office GUI platform.
• Define frontend strategy: coding standards, shared libraries, design systems, information architecture.
• Own BFF and API design; ensure clear REST API contracts between frontend and backend systems.
• Collaborate with backend/API teams on data contracts, service boundaries, and integration approaches.
• Own build, release, and deployment pipelines; drive reliable, fast, and safe delivery from commit to production.
• Set quality gates for the pipeline (tests, code reviews, security scanning).
• Collaborate with international teams across Business POs, Architecture, IT PM, UX, and ENX DT.
• Lead strategy for External User and Back Office portfolios; oversee IAM-related apps.
