Job summary

Rystad Energy invites new graduates to join its Technology department in Oslo for a structured trainee program across three teams: general software, database, and data/insights. You will rotate through teams to identify best fit and contribute to developing client-facing applications.

You’ll gain hands-on mentorship, work with C#, .NET, Angular, React, Python, SQL, and cloud technologies, and participate in data processing and ML-driven insights for the energy sector.

Headquartered in Oslo, Norway, and with offices across the globe, Rystad Energy is a rapidly growing independent Energy research and business intelligence company providing data, tools, analytics, and consultancy services to clients exposed to the energy industry across the world. Rystad Energy has a range of global databases and research products for companies in the Oil & Gas, Oilfield Services, and Renewables sectors, as well as Investors, Investment Banks, and Governments.

Rystad Energy is also an IT company. The Technology team is responsible for bringing all our content to our clients and for supporting our work processes. The team has been a key factor in the company’s success, ensuring modern technologies are applied to provide customer value and attractive customer journeys.

We are seeking candidates for our Technology department who are graduating in spring 2026. We have 3 teams – the general software team (C#, .Net, Angular, React,..), a database team (MSSqlServer, MDX, DAX,..) and a Data&Insights team (data science, data platform, data engineering,..). We are looking for candidates within all these teams. We also offer a trainee program, during which you'll work with each of the three teams. At the end of the program, we’ll determine together which team is the best fit for you.

Tasks you may do:

• Develop and maintain our client facing applications, as well as new apps
• Front-end as well as back-end
• Help improve efficiency in our colleagues’ work processes
• Create good data base structures for the product teams
• Write ETL’s to process data into formats to be used by clients
• Optimize SQL queries and processing pipelines
• Build data pipelines to source big data
• Develop our data platform to handle such data
• Use big data and ML to derive industry relevant information and data driven models

Requirements:

• Strong passion for and experience from IT development and programming
• Can-do attitude and loves to make things that work
• Relevant technologies are C#, .Net, Angular, React, Python, SQL, cloud technologies
• Good communication skills
• Working language is English
