Technical Sales Lead -- Fishing, Milling and Whipstock

About the role
As Technical Sales Lead, you will play a pivotal role in expanding our market presence and delivering on ambitious revenue targets through close collaboration with our local and international sales and product line teams. Your strategic insight, technical understanding, and customer focus will be key to strengthening Weatherford’s position in the region.
Reporting to the Technical Sales Manager, you’ll work cross‑functionally with Account Managers, Sales Managers, and Global Business Managers to ensure both operational excellence and commercial success. You will also be responsible for developing and maintaining a robust product line strategy, identifying new business opportunities, and introducing innovative technologies that add value for our clients.
Key Responsibilities
As a Technical Sales Lead, you will have a diverse and high‑impact role with clear commercial and strategic responsibilities. Your main focus will be to strengthen Weatherford’s position within Intervention Services and Drilling Tools by driving customer value, identifying new opportunities, and ensuring operational excellence.
Your key responsibilities include:
- Develop strategic plans to strengthen the ISDT portfolio and Weatherford’s identity by understanding customer and industry goals.
- Drive upselling initiatives within existing contracts and product deliveries.
- Consistently and effectively use available technologies (SFDC.com, XAIT‑Porter) to manage and track sales activity.
- Follow up on leads and opportunities for ISDT; create and update leads in SFDC.
- Lead and contribute to tender development and response processes, ensuring timely and high‑quality submissions.
- Collaborate with Commercial Operations for efficient tender management, including negotiation processes.
- Engage with clients to discuss technical specifications and ISDT portfolio offerings, gathering feedback to continuously improve our solutions.
- Review contracts in conjunction with the Account Manager to assess overall performance and client satisfaction.
- Identify and mitigate business risks through strategic planning and risk management.
What we are looking for
Education and experience
- Minimum 5 years of sales experience in the oil and gas industry.
- Minimum 3 years of field experience, preferably in fishing and milling.
- Strong operational understanding of downhole tools, such as fishing and milling, coiled tubing interventions, and drilling tools applications.
- Strong track record in high‑level client engagements.
- Existing relationship with key clients.
- Experience in preparing and delivering client presentations.
- Comprehensive understanding of corporate compliance and risk mitigation.
- College / University, Bachelor’s degree or higher. Can be replaced by long experience.

- Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Team‑oriented and able to manage multiple projects with a positive, proactive attitude.
- Professional and customer‑focused approach.
- Strong technical understanding of the oil and gas industry.
- Advanced computer and presentation skills; experienced in client‑facing delivery.
- Broad knowledge of sales, negotiations, and Drilling & Wells products and services.
- Ability to understand and assess cross‑product line opportunities.
