Job summary

Emerson Japan, Ltd. in Bergen is seeking a Senior Embedded Software Developer / Team Lead to guide embedded software for advanced measurement instruments used in oil & gas applications. You will blend hands-on coding in C++ with technical leadership across international teams.

You will own software design areas, drive code quality, and collaborate with software, electronics, physics, and other engineers to deliver robust solutions with strong testing and documentation practices.

Job description

We are looking for a Senior Embedded Software Developer / Team Lead to join our team in Bergen. In this role, you will lead embedded software development for advanced measurement instruments used in downhole, subsea, and topside applications. You will combine hands-on software development with technical leadership, taking ownership of key elements of product design and implementation while collaborating with multidisciplinary and international teams.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

• Lead and contribute to the development of embedded software for advanced flow measurement instruments.


• Provide technical direction and support effective collaboration within the software development team.


• Design, implement, document, test, and maintain embedded software solutions using C++.


• Take ownership of assigned areas of product design and software implementation.


• Collaborate with colleagues across software, electronics, physics, and other engineering disciplines.


• Contribute to software architecture, technical reviews, development practices, and continuous improvement activities.


• Use version control, documentation, and collaborative development tools to support reliable and maintainable software.


• Support quality, security, and automated testing throughout the software development lifecycle.
