Job summary

We are seeking a friendly and experienced Waiter/Waitress to join our team at a cozy restaurant in Svalbard. You will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and ensuring guests have an enjoyable dining experience.

Greet and seat guests, take orders, and collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of meals. The role requires English fluency, flexibility with hours, and the ability to stand for long periods.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a waiter/waitress in a fast-paced restaurant environment preferred.
• Excellent communication skills with fluency in English (additional language skills are a plus)
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to anticipate guest needs
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Physically fit with the ability to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 25 pounds
• Positive attitude with the willingness to learn new skills
• Valid work visa for Svalbard (accommodation provided)

Responsibilities

• Greet and seat guests in a timely and friendly manner
• Present menus, take orders, and answer any questions about menu items
• Ensure accuracy of orders and promptly deliver food and beverages to tables
• Assist with setting up and clearing tables, as well as restocking supplies
• Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of food items
• Check on guests throughout their meal to ensure satisfaction and address any concerns or issues
• Process payments using POS system accurately
• Maintain cleanliness of dining area, including wiping tables, chairs, and floors
