Job summary

Outdoor Norway is seeking an enthusiastic Outdoor Recreation Junior Guide to join our team for the June-August season. The role reports to the General Manager and collaborates with Senior Guides and the Reservations Coordinator to deliver outstanding guest experiences.

The position offers a flexible contract, part-time hours in June and full-time during the peak months, with training provided before starting. English proficiency is essential and training includes a mandatory workshop.

Qualifications

• High School diploma in outdoor recreation or equivalent.
• Current first-aid certification including CPR (minimum 16 hours course)
• Full clean drivers license with the ability to drive passengers and with a trailer
• Must have excellent spoken and written English skills

Responsibilities

• Uphold the tour mission; “Create great memories for our guests.”
• Ensure trips are run in a safe and timely manner
• Organize and assemble equipment required for each trip (e.g., mountain bikes, kayaks, canoes, standup paddle-boards, helmets)
• Assist senior guides where necessary
• Guide commercial tour groups on Class I and II whitewater rivers
• Enforce safety rules and regulations on and off the river
• Provide a high level of service to clients on and off the river

Skills

Strong English skills

Education

High School diploma in outdoor recreation or equivalent

First-aid CPR certification (minimum 16 hours)

Full clean driver's license with passenger/trailer capability

Basic Norwegian language
