Job description

Would you like to lead a team of expert specialists in the heart of the creative technology industry, while also helping develop the Nordic region's market-leading destination for photography, video and audio?

For more than 40 years, Scandinavian Photo has helped creative people bring their ideas to life within photography, audio, video, film, music, art and technology. We are passionate about both the technology and the people who use it. We know that the right tools can turn ideas into reality, and we are here to guide our customers towards the right products and solutions. In addition to high-quality products, we offer personal advice and world-class service.

About the role

Scandinavian Photo is in an exciting phase of development as we continue to strengthen our customer focus and concepts. As Store Manager in Oslo, you will have overall responsibility for leading the team and developing sales in the store.

Your most important task will be to lead and motivate a highly knowledgeable team of specialists and sales staff, while ensuring that Scandinavian Photo maintains a high level of service and quality – in the store, through our digital channels and at external events.

You will also play a central role in developing strong structure, clear routines and efficient ways of working on the shop floor.

This is a permanent, full-time position. The Store Manager is expected to work weekends at least once per month.

Your main responsibilities
  • Lead and develop experts: Lead, motivate and coach an engaged team of sales staff, product specialists and department leads.
  • Present leadership: Be a visible, coaching and action-oriented leader in the daily operation of the store.
  • Sales focus and KPIs: Set sales targets, follow up key performance indicators such as conversion, average order value (AOV) and margin, and maintain a strong commercial focus.
  • Service and quality: Ensure an outstanding customer experience and expert advice every day.
  • Structure and routines: Drive clear routines, time registration and workforce planning in Quinyx to create structure and efficiency.
  • Campaigns and events: Execute campaigns, events and product launches in the store.
  • Visual standards: Take responsibility for the store's visual presentation and ensure that the retail concept is followed consistently.
  • Relationships and network: Build and maintain strong relationships within the industry, with both private and business customers.
Who are you?

We are looking for a sales-driven, curious and confident leader who is passionate about developing people and delivering results. You do not need to be an expert in every product category, but you should have a genuine interest in technology, creative industries and customer needs.

We require that you:

  • Have at least two years of experience leading teams within retail or a similar commercial environment.
  • Are commercially minded, results-driven and experienced in working towards clear targets and KPIs.
  • Have a good understanding of key metrics such as conversion rate, margin and average order value.
  • Have strong leadership presence and are comfortable being a clear, confident and visible leader.
  • Are skilled at creating structure, order and clear ways of working.
  • Communicate clearly and have very good written and spoken skills in Norwegian or another Scandinavian language, as well as English.

It is considered an advantage if you have:

  • A passion for or knowledge of photography, video, audio, computers or content creation.
  • Experience with personnel management, Norwegian employment law and cooperation with employee representatives or health and safety representatives.
Why Scandinavian Photo?

At Scandinavian Photo, you will join a workplace with a high degree of freedom and responsibility, as part of a highly engaged team of photographers, videographers and technology enthusiasts.

You will have the opportunity to work with the latest technology in photography, video and content creation in a culture built around teamwork, passion, customer focus and quality. As Store Manager in Oslo, you will have a real opportunity to influence and shape the future of the store.

As part of the recruitment process, we may use personality assessments and background checks.
