Job summary

NATO is seeking a Staff Officer (Internal Control & Coordination) to join the Office of Budget & Finance (BUDFIN) at the Joint Warfare Centre in Stavanger, Norway. This full-time role supports the integrity of NATO's financial management and control systems.

The position requires a degree in accounting/finance or a related field, substantial budgetary and internal control experience, English proficiency, and NATO Secret clearance (NS). Salary is 93,933 NOK monthly with grade G15.

Qualifications

University degree in accounting, finance, management, public administration, economics or related discipline with 2 years related experience
Higher Secondary education with advanced vocational training leading to a professional qualification with 4 years post-related experience
Extensive middle-management experience in governmental budgetary administration and financial control operations
Familiarity with Automated Data Processing (ADP) financial management systems
Experience of departmental and cross-functional management

Responsibilities

Initiate and maintain an internal control system within BUDFIN and cross-functional processes
Perform internal control assessments and risk evaluations; report findings and recommendations
Coordinate cross-sectional tasks and ensure effective BUDFIN communication
Oversee annual audits and liaise with IBAN auditors
Ensure audit trails and data confidentiality and integrity in information systems
Review BUDFIN practices and ensure proper approval processes for transactions
Draft and review BUDFIN policies and procedures
