Procore Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Staff Backend Engineer (C#/C++) to join the Product & Technology Team in Norway. You will shape architecture and backend systems powering BIM and construction management worldwide.

You’ll lead high-performance backend work, design scalable services, and mentor engineers while collaborating with product, design, and platform teams to deliver robust APIs. This role reports to Senior Director of Engineering.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• 8+ years of professional backend engineering experience.
• Strong C++ (C++17/20+) and memory management.
• Experience with distributed systems and microservices at scale.
• Deep understanding of multithreading, networking, async programming.
• Experience with REST/gRPC APIs and API design.
• Familiarity with containerized environments and cloud-native infra.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of high-performance backend systems.
• Architect scalable, distributed services.
• Own complex initiatives from concept to production.
• Collaborate with Product, Frontend, Infrastructure, and Platform teams.
• Establish engineering best practices in system design and testing.
• Drive architectural decisions for enterprise-scale customers.
• Mentor senior and mid-level engineers.
• Anticipate scalability and performance challenges and design solutions.
• Contribute to CI/CD, observability, and operational excellence.
