Dune is building a data platform to make on-chain data observable. We are hiring a backend engineer focused on data systems to orchestrate thousands of interdependent models and propagate schema changes without breaking downstream consumers.

Join a fully remote-first team spanning Europe and the US, and contribute to the hardest parts of a data lifecycle system while aligning product requirements with robust architectural design.

Qualifications

• Experience designing and building data-centric systems at scale.
• Ability to define contracts between ingestion and curation for end-to-end datasets.
• Strong CS fundamentals and distributed systems knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Design and build the control plane for curated data lifecycles and backfills.
• Decide, dataset by dataset, architecture for models/services/jobs used in production.
• Define contracts between ingestion and curation for end-to-end data products.
• Implement data quality signals and alerting to reduce noise during incidents.
• Work across Go, Kotlin, Rust, Python and SQL choosing the right tool for the job.
• Break large problems into shippable steps and mentor others.
