Job description

Specialist in gastroenterology at a hospital in Østfold, Norway

A public hospital in eastern Norway is currently looking for a specialist in gastroenterology to join its department of gastroenterology.

The position includes clinical work in a 20-bed inpatient unit, outpatient consultations, and participation in ward rounds and internal referrals. You will be part of a highly competent and supportive team in a department that values collaboration, knowledge sharing and high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities:
  • Clinical work with patients suffering from gastrointestinal disorders

  • Work in inpatient ward, outpatient clinic and ward consultation service

  • Participate in daytime duties and a home-based on-call rota (active duty until 21:00, passive from 21:00 to 07:45)

  • Weekend ward rounds and on-call duties approximately every 10th weekend

  • Contribute to quality improvement and professional development in the department

Qualifications:
  • Medical specialist in gastroenterology

  • Authorization to practice within the EU/EEA

  • Proficiency in English and motivation to learn Norwegian, supported by our free Norwegian language school

  • Strong motivation and a genuine interest in patient care
