Job description

Villa Solborg har ledig permanent position i 100% position som social educator (vernepleier)/nurse.

The position is vacant from today and the start date is as soon as possible.

The position involves two-part rota / shift schedule work with every 3rd weekend and the possibility of long shifts on weekends.

Villa Solborg is a newly established department that specializes in services for people who are in the area of geriatrics, disabilities and developmental disability.

The department has an increased activity focus and aims to create a professional group with competence to provide users with services throughout old age without having to move to a nursing home. This means there will be an increased focus on professional development and courses to build up and maintain this competence in the staff group.

The department has increased basic staffing compared with nursing homes to care for the user group who have complex and composite needs that change rapidly in line with ageing.

Department Solborg is organized as a residential community and has clear goals for task distribution. The department has a permanent specialist nurse and an on-site department manager in order to create a good working environment and a comprehensive and coordinated service offering for the users.

As a social educator (vernepleier)/nurse you will be part of a highly competent professional environment with more colleagues who have completed further education within relevant fields. The social educator (vernepleier)/nurse will have their own work tasks focusing on observation and evaluation of measures. The social educator (vernepleier)/nurse will be responsible for preparing and evaluating measures for individual users as well as guiding colleagues in the implementation of these measures.

The department works actively according to the principles of targeted environmental work and as a social educator (vernepleier)/nurse in the department you will be expected to contribute to this work.

This means being creative in designing activities and creating meaningful everyday life for users even with physical limitations and somatic challenges. Villa Solborg has large common areas and great opportunities for activities in everyday life.

The building is equipped for the use of alarm and welfare technology to relieve staff of tasks that can be automated.

The department uses a shared laundry and has its own laundry staff.

Villa Solborg is part of a unit in major development to create services across departments that will stand the test of time.

Work tasks

• The services provided are health care, practical assistance and activation both individually and in groups
• The services are based on the relationship and trust between users and staff, between employees and relatives and cooperating agencies
• The work tasks are follow‑up in everyday life and strengthen the individual's ability to retain skills as long as possible; this is done through targeted environmental work, security, and predictability
• Social educator (vernepleier)/nurse is part of the professional group with higher education, and has a particular responsibility for preparing plans, goals and measures for each service recipient
• Collaborates with other staff and other partners in developing the offering
• Contributes actively to developing the workplace and creating a good working environment
• Contributes to professional competence enhancement and development of the service
• Performs practical tasks and other delegated tasks from the leader
• Contributes to ensuring that the service is operated in accordance with the unit's business plan, goals and budget frameworks
• Duty to document in the professional system Profil
• Contributes actively to the department's HSE work and quality work

Qualifications

• Bachelor in social educator (vernepleier) or nursing
• A high professional focus is required from you as an employee, and that you have the ability to see the user's holistic needs
• Experience working with targeted environmental work is desirable
• Experience working with people with developmental disability is desirable
• Experience in geriatric care is desirable
• Relevant further education or courses are desirable
• Good formal knowledge of Norwegian is required, and the ability to express yourself well both orally and in writing
• For the position a police certificate is required cf. Lov om kommunale helse- og omsorgstjenesteloven § 5-4. The certificate must be presented before start date (not older than 3 months)
