The Oslo Municipality Digitization Agency is seeking a Service Designer to work closely with users to shape services that touch residents and city employees daily.
You will be attached to a product area or team, collaborate across the design community and contribute to the agency's product roadmaps and strategy.
Based at Grensesvingen 6, Helsfyr, Oslo with flexible hours and opportunities for home working, fostering continuous professional development.
The Oslo Municipality Digitization Agency (Digitaliseringsetaten) was established on 1 January 2026 to make Oslo Municipality more efficient, precise and user-friendly. It operates, acquires and develops digital services together with city districts and businesses, with a mission to simplify everyday life for residents and city employees. The agency employs over 300 specialists across technology, design, product development, data flows, digital infrastructure, communications, information security, privacy, technology procurement and change management.
The agency is hiring one service designer to help develop solutions in close dialogue with users — solutions that affect hundreds of thousands of people every day. You would be attached to a product area or product team, with possible periods of cross-area work or individual assignments for internal and external parties. You would also be part of a broader design community that spans the whole agency, including a cross-municipal Forum for Service Design that meets regularly for both professional and networking sessions.
A portfolio is welcome but not required; a simple presentation of your experiences is equally accepted.
The role is based at the agency's offices at Grensesvingen 6, Helsfyr, Oslo. Flexible working hours apply (37 hours 55 minutes per week including lunch), with good opportunities for working from home that product areas largely manage themselves.
