Job description
Position Overview

Actithera is a radiopharmaceutical biotech company, co-headquartered in Oslo and Cambridge, Massachusetts, founded in 2021. The company applies a chemistry-first approach to design next-generation radioligand therapies (RLTs) that deliver potent, tumor-focused radiation while sparing healthy tissue—guided by an isotope-agnostic and platform-enabled strategy to optimize tumor retention and therapeutic index. Actithera’s vision is rooted in precision molecular design and a deeply collaborative culture, with a shared mission to transform the lives of cancer patients through innovative science.

We are seeking a motivated and skilled Scientist to join our in vitro pharmacology team in Oslo. This role focuses on the hands-on execution of in vitro studies to support our radiopharmaceutical discovery programs. The Scientist will perform a broad range of assays to characterize candidate compounds and generate high-quality data that advances our pipeline.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct in vitro experiments including cell culture, radioligand binding and uptake assays, internalization, efflux, stability, and mechanism-of-action studies.
  • Maintain and handle mammalian cell cultures and implement high-quality laboratory practices.
  • Execute established protocols and maintain meticulous laboratory records.
  • Analyze, and report experimental results, contributing to data packages for internal reviews.
  • Collaborate closely with radiochemistry and in vivo pharmacology teams to support appropriate ex vivo readouts and to integrate data into program strategies.
  • Present experimental results in team meetings and contribute to scientific publications and IP filings.
  • Ensure compliance with laboratory safety standards and radiation protection guidelines.
Qualifications
  • MSc or PhD in Pharmacology, Cell Biology, Biochemistry, or related discipline with 2+ years of industry or academic experience.
  • Hands-on experience with mammalian cell culture and in vitro pharmacology assays with experience in binding, internalization/efflux, DNA damage and cytotoxicity assays.
  • Proven ability to handle radioactive materials safely and in compliance with regulations.
  • Prior experience in radiopharmaceuticals is essential.
  • Experience with FACS analyses and autoradiography is required; familiarity with immunohistochemistry assays is considered an advantage.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to deliver reproducible results.
  • Team player with excellent communication skills.
