Job summary

VARD Electro AS, a global provider of marine electrical systems, seeks a Senior Purchaser to manage purchasing for navigation equipment and related systems. You will build relationships with key suppliers, lead negotiations on price and contracts, and develop framework agreements while aligning with Engineering on technical and commercial aspects.

Qualifications

• Higher education in procurement or related field.
• Several years of procurement experience in marine or industrial equipment.
• Experience with navigation equipment, ideally including DP systems, sensors, positioning and related systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage purchasing activities within the navigation equipment area, including DP systems, sensors, positioning and related navigation and bridge equipment.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers.
• Lead supplier negotiations on price, delivery, commercial terms and contracts.
• Develop and renegotiate framework agreements, price lists and other commercial agreements.
• Evaluate supplier offers and perform commercial analysis.
• Ensure competitive pricing and support cost reduction and procurement improvement initiatives.
• Work closely with Engineering and other stakeholders to ensure technical and commercial alignment.
• Follow up supplier performance, deliveries and commercial topics.
• Analyze purchasing and spend data and identify improvement opportunities.
• Ensure correct procurement data, pricing and supplier information are maintained in SAP/ERP.
• Support continuous improvement of procurement processes and ways of working.
