Job description

We are seeking an experienced Senior or Principal Instrument Engineer for a project assignment focused on the oil and gas industry. In this role, you will be responsible for the detailed design and implementation of instrumentation systems for offshore installations.
Responsibilities
* Perform detailed design of instrumentation tasks and participate in technical studies.
* Estimate work, prepare comprehensive job packages, and ensure follow-up on all deliveries.
* Conduct discipline checks of design basis, including studies, drawings, and job packages.
* Follow up with suppliers, manage package responsibilities, and participate in pre-testing/FAT.
* Conduct inspections both onshore and offshore.
* Perform as-built documentation upon project completion.
* Take on training responsibilities for junior engineers.

Required expertise
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Instrumentation/Automation Hardware, or a Technical College degree with extensive relevant experience.
* Minimum 10 years of experience in engineering design for offshore-related projects.
* In-depth knowledge of modifications on operational offshore installations.
* Strong understanding of instrumentation used in the oil industry, including hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical control systems.
* Familiarity with industry standards such as ATEX, Norsok, and Equinor TR.
* Valid offshore and health certificates.
* Completion of a basic EX course (Grunnleggende EX kurs).
* FSE certificate (high and low voltage) with first aid training.
* Professional proficiency in Norwegian or English, both written and spoken.

Location: Bergen, with offshore work required
Work schedule: Full-time
Duration: 1-year assignment
