Dell Technologies seeks a Senior Principal Engineer, Solutions Architecture, DLC Thermal Design Lead to drive mechanical and thermal design for data center cooling projects across EMEA. You will convert concepts into fully coordinated engineering packages for construction, commissioning and handover to customers.

Competenze

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline.
• 10+ years of experience in mechanical design thermal engineering or mission critical infrastructure projects.
• Strong understanding of thermodynamic and hydraulic system design, including heat transfer, fluid dynamics, closed-loop fluid networks, flow distribution strategies, hydraulic separation, redundancy concepts, and operational resiliency.
• Proven experience developing detailed engineering design packages for deployment, including thermal calculations, hydraulic modelling, equipment selection, material compatibility assessments, and commissioning requirements.
• Working knowledge of ASHRAE Guidelines, NVIDIA liquid cooling requirements, and data center design best practices.

We are seeking an experienced DLC Thermal Design Lead to lead the development and coordination of detailed mechanical and thermal designs for liquid cooling infrastructure projects across EMEA.

This role sits at the heart of project delivery, bridging the gap between solution architecture, customer requirements, engineering disciplines, deployment teams, and commissioning execution. You will be responsible for converting conceptual designs into fully coordinated engineering packages that can be successfully constructed, commissioned, and handed over to customers.

You will:

• Lead technical discovery workshops with customers, data center operators, consultants, facility teams, partners, and internal pre-sales.
• Gather and validate all information required to support detailed engineering design and deployment planning.
• Perform hydraulic, thermal, and system performance calculations using both proprietary and industry-standard engineering tools.
• Develop and review of mechanical and electrical drawings, calculations, specifications, cooling solution design intent, control philosophies, sequence of operations and engineering deliverables to commissioning leads and customers.
• Conduct formal design handover sessions with deployment and commissioning teams.

Essential Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in mechanical engineering or related engineering discipline, or equivalent combination of education and industry experience.
• 10+ years of experience in mechanical design thermal engineering, or mission critical infrastructure projects.
• Strong understanding of thermodynamic and hydraulic system design, including heat transfer, fluid dynamics, closed-loop fluid networks, flow distribution strategies, hydraulic separation, redundancy concepts, and operational resiliency.
• Proven experience developing detailed engineering design packages for deployment, including thermal calculations, hydraulic modelling, equipment selection, material compatibility assessments, and commissioning requirements.

Desirable Requirements

• Working knowledge of ASHRAE Guidelines, OCP standards, NVIDIA liquid cooling requirements, and data center design best practices.
• Experience integrating leak detection, alarm management, containment, and isolation strategies into deployment-ready cooling system designs.
• Experience using engineering and design tools such as Revit MEP, AutoCAD, BIM workflows or equivalent platforms is highly desirable.
