Job summary

Yinson Production is expanding its Oslo team to advance the company’s FLNG business. We seek senior professionals with substantial LNG/FLNG and offshore project experience to influence direction, standards and delivery across the lifecycle from screening through operations.

You will join early to shape execution models, procurement strategies and interface management, working with seasoned professionals in an international organization and contributing to long-term value creation.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in chemical, process, energy, mechanical, naval architecture, safety or closely related engineering discipline; equivalent combinations considered for highly experienced candidates.
• Substantial experience from LNG, FLNG, FPSO or comparable offshore developments.
• Typically 10+ years of relevant experience in FLNG/LNG projects across development to operations.
• Proven ability to integrate multiple technical and project functions beyond original discipline.
• Professional English, written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Assess FLNG opportunities from technical, execution, commercial and operational perspectives and develop executable solutions.
• Integrate process, utilities, hull, containment, marine, mooring, offloading and safety requirements; manage interfaces and early design assurance.
• Develop execution, contracting and procurement strategies with licensors, suppliers, shipyards and Class society to improve cost, schedule and delivery certainty.
• Maintain technical assumptions, decisions, risks and client commitments from opportunity through FEED to project execution.
• Contribute to proposals, evaluations, contract strategies, risk assessments and investment decisions balancing performance, cost and lifecycle value.
• Collaborate with Operations to embed operability, maintainability and reliability from concept to start-up and operation.
• Lead or support multidisciplinary workstreams and define repeatable FLNG solutions and ways of working.

Yinson Production is now expanding the team in Oslo that will further build our FLNG business.

Yinson Production already has 30 years of floating production experience, established engineering, project execution and operating functions, strong financial capacity and deep relationships across the offshore energy industry. Senior FLNG expertise is already in place, with Olve Skjeggedal and Erik Svendsen leading the development of Yinson Production’s FLNG offering. The next step is to build the team that will turn that platform into execution of FLNG projects.

This is an opportunity to shape how Yinson Production develops, delivers and ultimately operates FLNG assets. From screening, concept development and pre-FEED through FEED and, as opportunities mature, into execution, commissioning, start-up and long-term operations.

We are now primarily recruiting senior professionals with substantial experience from FLNG/LNG and offshore complex projects. Some appointments will lead projects and multidisciplinary workstreams; others will bring FLNG-specific technical, project related, and strategic expertise that complements Yinson Production’s existing engineering, project execution and operations capabilities.

You will join early enough to influence the direction, standards and ways of working, while building from the platform, resources and delivery capability of an established offshore owner and operator.

The Work

• Assessing FLNG opportunities from technical, execution, commercial and operational perspectives and developing competitive, executable solutions for clients
• Integrating process, utilities, hull, containment, marine, mooring, offloading and safety requirements, including key interfaces, early safety studies and design assurance
• Developing execution, contracting and procurement strategies with licensors, suppliers, module contractors, shipyards and Class to improve cost, schedule and delivery certainty
• Carrying technical assumptions, decisions, risks and client commitments from opportunity and FEED into project execution
• Contributing to proposals, commercial evaluations, contract strategies, risk assessments and investment decisions, balancing performance, cost, schedule and lifecycle value
• Working with Operations and Asset Management to embed operability, maintainability, reliability and availability from concept through commissioning, start-up and operation
• Leading or supporting multidisciplinary workstreams, technical assurance, stakeholder alignment and the development of repeatable FLNG solutions and ways of working

Backgrounds we are looking for

Depending On Your Background, You Will Bring Particular Depth In One Or More Of The Following, While Being Able To Work Effectively Across The Wider FLNG Development

• Screening, concept development, pre-FEED and FEED. Turning a client requirement into something technically and commercially credible.
• Contracting and procurement strategy, licensors, shipyards, module integration, delivery.
• Commissioning, start-up, operational readiness, and operating asset experience that informs how facilities should be designed for safe, reliable and efficient operation.

Qualifications

Essential

• Master’s degree in chemical, process, energy, mechanical, naval architecture, technical safety or a closely related engineering discipline. Equivalent combinations of education, professional qualifications and extensive relevant industry experience will also be considered for highly experienced candidates.
• Substantial experience from LNG, FLNG, FPSO, offshore gas processing or comparable offshore developments
• Typically 10+ years of relevant experience from FLNG or LNG projects across several phases, such as development, FEED, detailed engineering, construction, commissioning, start-up or operations
• Demonstrated experience working beyond your original engineering discipline and integrating multiple technical and project functions
• Professional English, written and spoken

Beneficial

• Practical understanding of liquefaction, gas pre-treatment, refrigeration compression, cryogenic systems and boil-off gas management
• Understanding of floating facility integration: topsides, hull, containment, marine systems, mooring and offloading
