Job summary

Yinson Production in Oslo seeks an Operations Engineer to oversee technical and operational follow-up of FPSOs and support offshore and onshore management. The role involves maintenance, troubleshooting, modifications and projects across the fleet, with regular travel to units worldwide.

You will work with Operations Managers and offshore teams, taking responsibility for delegated projects from planning through execution in a cross-functional environment.

Job description

Yinson Production owns and operates seven floating production units, and we are now seeking an Operations Engineer in Oslo.

The position involves technical and operational follow-up of our production units, supporting both offshore and onshore management. The work covers maintenance, troubleshooting, modifications and projects across the fleet.

About the position

Your task is to contribute to the safe, reliable and efficient operation of our production units.

You will join the Operations department in Oslo and work closely with Operations Managers, Superintendents, technical disciplines and our offshore organisations. You will follow designated units and tasks and take responsibility for delegated projects from planning through execution.

The role gives you broad exposure to FPSO operations and requires interaction with clients, vendors and contractors as well as colleagues across our global organisation. Regular travel to our production units and other global locations is part of the position.

Core Responsibilities

• Technical and operational follow-up of designated FPSOs
• Part of onshore management supporting offshore Operations
• Delivery of delegated projects and modifications, including scope, budget and execution
• Troubleshooting and resolution of technical/operational issues
• Contribution to maintenance planning, reliability and continuous improvement
• Coordination of technical activities involving internal disciplines, clients, vendors and contractors
• Client communication and following up on dedicated tasks

Duties

• Follow up maintenance and repairs related to hull and topside systems, machinery, rotary and static equipment, piping and structures
• Participate in or lead unit follow-up meetings and activities related to Flag and Classification Society requirements
• Conduct unit inspections and ensure findings and agreed actions are followed through
• Plan and follow up modifications, repairs, testing and deliveries, including relevant Management of Change activities
• Coordinate and expedite vendors, suppliers and subcontractors
• Monitor CMMS status and contribute to long-term maintenance plans and annual budget input
• Participate in risk assessments
• Represent Operations in client meetings
• Participate in the Emergency Response Team as required
• Travel internationally and offshore as required

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in relevant technical discipline, or equivalent technical experience from seagoing vessels, platforms or drilling
• Professional English, written and spoken
• Ability to work independently, take ownership and collaborate across disciplines
• Willingness and ability to undertake international and offshore travel
