Job summary

FutureCare Health in Baltimore is seeking an Activities Assistant to support the Activities Director in developing and implementing the facility activity program. The role involves promoting physical, mental, and spiritual well-being through daily activities, outings, and community interactions.

You will assist with announcements, calendar planning, and volunteer coordination, while maintaining attendance records and contributing to care plans.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• 1 year experience in a skilled nursing facility preferred.
• Desire to work with elderly or disabled.
• Arts/crafts or music experience is desirable.
• Ability to handle emotional and behavioral disturbances.
• Vivacious and patient in interactions with residents.
• Availability to work weekends, holidays and evenings as scheduled.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily activity programs to improve quality of life.
• Make daily announcements and share information for residents and staff.
• Support sensory needs of bedridden residents and LYFE participants.
• Plan monthly activity calendar and contribute ideas.
• Communicate daily issues with the Activities Director.
• Work with volunteers during activities and supervise them.
• Document attendance and complete participation records.
• Attend care plan meetings as assigned and document supplies inventory.
• Participate in outings outside the facility and liaise with community representatives.
• Represent the department in the director's absence and attend admin meetings.
• Collaborate with other staff to conduct events and uphold ethics standards.
