Job summary

NTNU invites applications for a full-time permanent researcher position in the Department of Electric Energy (IEL), to join the High Voltage Technology group. The role combines laboratory responsibility with active research and project development, mentoring PhD candidates and MSc students in experimental work at NTNU's Trondheim site.

We seek a candidate with hands-on HV laboratory experience, solid safety practices, and a strong publication track record.

Qualifications

  • PhD in High Voltage Technology or a closely related field.
  • Experience from experimental work in high voltage laboratories.
  • Practical experience with high current systems and testing environments.
  • Solid understanding of measurement techniques, instrumentation, and laboratory safety practices.
  • Experience contributing to research activities and scientific publications.
  • English language skills at CEFR B2 level or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Act as laboratory responsible for the HTV group’s laboratories, ensuring reliable and safe operation.
  • Support and guide PhD candidates and MSc students in planning and conducting experimental work.
  • Contribute to the design, execution, and evaluation of laboratory experiments.
  • Take part in and initiate research activities within high voltage and high current technologies.
  • Prepare and contribute to applications for externally funded research projects.
  • Maintain and further develop laboratory infrastructure, measurement systems, and procedures.
  • Contribute to a collaborative research environment within the group.
