Job summary

GE HealthCare in Horten, Norway, is seeking a Senior Hardware Engineer to advance cardiovascular ultrasound systems across the product lifecycle, from design to support and reliability improvements.

The role requires a Master’s (or PhD) in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Systems Engineering or Computer Science and about 5–10 years of experience with embedded hardware, CPU architectures, FPGA integration and platform firmware.

Qualifications

• Master's degree plus 5–10 years of experience developing, integrating or sustaining complex electronic products or systems.
• Experience in medical devices or regulated environments is advantageous but not required.
• Deep competence in at least one hardware discipline with curiosity to learn adjacent technologies and work at the system level.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to system architecture, hardware design and integration across ultrasound platforms.
• Lead hardware integration, platform development and verification, with problem solving for reliability.
• Collaborate across software, mechanical engineering, sourcing, manufacturing, quality and regulatory teams.
