Job description

We are pleased to offer an exciting opportunity for a Senior Engineer, reporting to the Team Leader Technical Support. In this advanced role, you will act as a technical authority within the support team, delivering expert‑level assistance on propulsion products to both internal and external stakeholders.

You will lead complex troubleshooting efforts, mentor engineers, and contribute to strategic initiatives across cross‑functional projects. A key part of your role will be shaping and enhancing technical support capabilities and documentation for Global Customer Support, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and service excellence.

You will deliver services across the entire product lifecycle — from commissioning and operational support to legacy systems and retirement. Our portfolio includes conventional propellers, azimuth propellers, gearboxes, tunnel thrusters.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and resolve complex technical cases within the Thrusters portfolio.
  • Drive root cause analysis and resolution of recurring technical issues.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Product Management, and Sales to develop advanced technical solutions.
  • Act as escalation point for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Represent Technical Support in cross‑functional projects.
  • Mentor and coach junior engineers to build team capability.
  • Participate in out‑of‑office‑hours support team duty (one week rotation).
Qualifications And Experience
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering or equivalent industry experience.
  • Strong technical knowledge of thrusters equipment and maritime operations.
  • Experience with technical documentation and quality assurance processes.
  • Ability to build trust and foster productive team relationships.
  • Strong ability to learn and adapt to new software systems.
  • Background in hydraulic systems is considered an advantage.
  • Fluent in both spoken and written English and Norwegian.

This employment may require security clearance by the Norwegian National Security Authority, clearance through Civil Aviation Authority or a background check.
