Job description

At Dignio we're looking for a Senior Embedded Systems Engineer to join our team.

About the job

Dignio is looking for a Senior Embedded Systems Engineer with a passion for hardware development, low-level firmware, and end-to-end embedded solutions to help us push the boundaries of healthcare technology. In this role, you will be instrumental in developing and optimizing firmware for our connected medicine dispenser, managing everything from microcontroller code for sensors, motors, and power management to Linux-based software running on a multi-core ARM processor. You will also collaborate across teams to deliver robust, testable, and scalable software that powers our connected health platform, playing a critical part in ensuring seamless integration between hardware, embedded systems, and our digital ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities
  • Write, optimize, and maintain embedded C/C++ firmware to read sensors, process inputs, control actuators, and manage battery and power circuitry

    • Integrate firmware functionality with software running on a multi-core ARM CPU, handling communication protocols, device drivers, and high-level application interfaces.

      • Work closely with cross-functional teams to incorporate touch screens, cameras, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC, and 4G LTE modems into a unified, efficient, and reliable system.

        • Design and implement tools, scripts, and processes to facilitate automated testing, streamline manufacturing, and ensure product reliability from development through Production.

          • Continuously monitor and refine system performance and power consumption, diagnosing issues across firmware, software, and hardware boundaries to deliver a robust end-to-end solution.

            • Stay updated on and conduct all tasks in compliance with the Dignio Quality Management System and Information Security Management System.

Person Specifications and Experience
  • Proven track record of designing, developing, and maintaining embedded firmware (C/C++), with a deep understanding of RTOS or bare-metal systems and real-time constraints.

    • Hands-on experience building or integrating software on Linux-based, ARM-powered devices, including drivers, communication stacks, and performance optimization.

      • Comfort working with schematics, evaluating hardware designs, and bridging the gap between electrical engineering and software development.

        • Familiarity with a wide range of interfaces (SPI, I2C, UART, USB) and wireless technologies (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC, LTE) for seamless system integration.

          • Experience writing automated test scripts, setting up CI/CD pipelines for embedded systems, and working closely with manufacturing to ensure product quality and reliability.

            • A proactive team player who thrives in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment, eager to collaborate with diverse groups to deliver safe, efficient, and cutting-edge healthcare solutions.
