Job summary

Shield AI is seeking a seasoned front-end engineer to design and deliver agentic AI UI experiences across the Hivemind platform. You will prototype in React/TypeScript, ship production-quality interfaces, and collaborate with product and research teams.

You will lead design patterns for streaming interactions, provenance, and multi-modal interfaces, with travel 1–3 times per quarter. A strong portfolio and deep React expertise are required.

Qualifications

• 12+ years designing and building production software interfaces with end-to-end ownership.
• Expert-level React/TypeScript; production-quality front-end code.
• Portfolio of shipped tools or applications showing strong interaction design.
• Hands-on experience designing LLM-powered experiences: streaming and context management.
• Deep knowledge of the DOM, browser APIs, WebSockets, and SSEs.
• Experience running user research and usability testing, and acting on results.
• Strong software hygiene: Git, code reviews, testing, CI/CD.
• Ability to operate in ambiguity and drive technical efforts across teams.

Responsibilities

• Design and build UX for agentic AI products across the CTO office: Brain, Springboard, and enterprise AI apps.
• Prototype in code with React/TypeScript and land in production with product teams.
• Define interaction patterns for streaming responses, provenance, and multi-modal input.
• Design interfaces for autonomy architectures and model lifecycle tooling (dashboards, traceability).
• Conduct user research across engineers, operators, and executives; translate findings into design decisions.
• Evaluate competing agentic and enterprise AI products; synthesize findings for leadership.
• Establish reusable design patterns and component vocabularies for AI apps.
• Drive adoption: instrument what you ship, monitor usage, iterate daily.
