Job summary

Six Robotics in Oslo is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design and evolve the data platform that ingests drone telemetry, logs, and media. You will shape the storage model and enable reliable downstream access.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in data-focused roles (Data Engineer/ Data Platform/ Backend) at a data-centric product.
• Experience designing schemas that must evolve over time.
• Experience choosing storage backends, building in-house or integrating third-party platforms.
• Experience designing and running data pipelines handling changing input formats and evolving schemas.
• Comfort operating data systems you’ve built, not just designing them.
• Nice-to-have: Time-series storage at scale, Telemetry/IoT data, Schema versioning, Media processing with data.

Responsibilities

• Design the data model for flight data: telemetry, logs, and media.
• Build the schema evolution strategy to cope with field drift across versions.
• Build pipelines transforming raw uploads into queryable, structured data.
• Drive decisions on database, time-series store and object storage with the team.
• Lay groundwork for how data is queried, including read patterns for dashboards.
