Job summary

Six Robotics is building a cloud platform that ingests UAV flight data and enables real-time streaming and secure device-to-cloud communication. You will own core backend design, APIs, and deployment strategies, collaborating with edge and frontend teams to deliver a scalable solution.

Ideal candidates have 8+ years of engineering experience, strong backend and API design skills, and a hands-on approach to cloud platforms, with a focus on production readiness and customer value.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of engineering experience, with 4+ years in production backend services.
• Proven design and operation of ingestion or device-to-cloud systems.
• Infrastructure as code mindset with tested, versioned deployments.
• Strong API design judgment (REST vs gRPC).

Responsibilities

• Design and build cloud services ingesting flight data.
• Decide cloud and deployment model considering vendor compatibility.
• Scale internal deployment to customer-ready rollout.
• Design API contracts between GCS, cloud backend, and dashboard.
• Build authentication and secure transport for device-to-cloud.
• Move from post-flight uploads to real-time streaming.
• Operate what you build and stay engaged in production.
