Job summary

Avanta Works in Svalbard is seeking a Senior Commercial Architect to lead design and development of commercial buildings. You will oversee projects from concept through construction, coordinating with clients, engineers, and contractors to meet budget and schedule targets.

The role requires strong knowledge of architectural design, building codes, and construction methods; proficiency in AutoCAD or Revit; and mentoring junior staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in commercial architecture.
• Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD or Revit.
• Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design process for commercial buildings from concept to completion.
• Collaborate with clients to understand needs and develop design solutions.
• Create detailed drawings, plans, and specifications using CAD.
• Select materials and finishes that are cost-effective and meet quality standards.
• Ensure compliance with building codes, zoning laws, and regulations.
• Oversee construction progress to ensure designs are implemented correctly.
• Communicate regularly with clients to provide updates on progress.
• Mentor and guide junior architects.
