Job summary

Nussir is an expanding mining company seeking a Chief Accountant to lead the financial operations as it moves from construction into production. The role requires strong Norwegian accounting regulation knowledge and IFRS familiarity, with SAP and advanced Excel skills valued.

The position includes responsibility for tax reporting, annual closes, budgeting and financial analysis, in a dynamic, growth-focused environment in Finnmark. Based at Hammerfest with collaboration across the group.

Qualifications

• Certified Accountant with relevant degree and licensure.
• Minimum 5 years in accounting, auditing, or financial management.
• Strong knowledge of Norwegian accounting regulations; IFRS is an advantage.
• Experience with year-end closing, tax and VAT reporting.
• Experience with SAP and advanced Excel a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead the transition from construction to production in accounting.
• Oversee accounting operations and financial processes.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Ensure compliance with laws, regulations and standards.
• Oversee tax and VAT reporting responsibilities.
• Coordinate and manage external audits with advisors.
• Develop internal routines, processes and controls.
• Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and reporting processes.
• Participate in financial analysis and decision support for management.
• Collaborate with external advisors, authorities and other business units.
